Sign Language Programs In Districts

As part of the efforts of Christian Society for the Deaf in the district to reach out to Deaf people, a British Sign Language seminar was held. In this activity, the brethren and visitors were taught how to communicate with the Deaf Community effectively through knowing this language and using a variety of signs. The CSD Officers guided the brethren through a seminar that ranged from numbers to the alphabet.

PAMPANGA WEST – The ecclesiastical district, led by the Children’s Worship Service (CWS) and Christian Society for the Deaf (CSD) officers, hosted an Online Sign Language Class for CWS, tapping the interest of children members of the Iglesia Ni Cristo in learning Sign Language to communicate with the Deaf.

REGION 3 – There is joy all over the place, as the Deaf brethren from Central Luzon, which is the Region 3 of the Philippines, bond during the CSD Camp held at Bulacan. Together with respective families, they took part in various activities in every booth installed, meeting new friends along the way.

With gratefulness to God and to the Church Administration the Deaf brethren from this part of the Philippines joyfully participated in the CSD Camp held in Santiago City, Isabela. This is part of the celebration for the 10th anniversary of the Christian Society for the Deaf (CSD) next year. They met other brethren from different districts in their region and made new friends. The brethren promised that they will remain active in all the activities launched by the Church Administration.

Commemorating the anniversaries of three Christian Family Organizations (CFO), namely, the Christian Society for the Deaf, KADIWA and Binhi, a special gathering was held throughout the district. Not remiss in participating with, the Deaf brethren even attested that such occasion inspired them to all the more be diligent in performing their respective duties.

CENTRAL – The Deaf members, who belong to the KADIWA and Binhi organizations, attended special gatherings held at various local congregations of the district. This was one way, among others, they commemorated the 49th anniversary of the said youth organizations inside the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ).

United with the aim of the Church Administration to make the youth members active in all the activities of the Church, the member of Children’s Worship Service (CWS) attended the CWS Sign Language Class in the worship building of the Local Congregation of North Diversion. The attendees learned basic signs that they can use to communicate with the Deaf.

Happiness is in the air! Brethren’s smiling eyes well represent their joyful faces behind face masks as they eagerly participate in fun games during a CSD Get-Together activity, which was held at the compound of the Local Congregation of New Era University. Having felt that sense of belongingness, they are all the more inspired, they said, to continue serving God come what may in their lives.

Members of the Children’s Worship Service (CWS) expressed their deep appreciation as they actively participated in the Sign Language Class organized by the CSD. They had fun as they learn basic signs they can use to communicate with the Deaf.

AURORA – It was a joyful and educational experience for the young brethren from this district to attend a basic Sign Language seminar. The young brethren learned common signs and were inspired to all the more actively participate in all of the church activities.
