Sign Language Programs In Districts

BATANGAS NORTH – Basic Sign Language Seminar

Deaf brethren in this district appreciated the effort of the brethren to understand their language as they witness the Kadiwa and Binhi members actively participate in a Basic Sign Language Seminar. They were inspired to participate in all the endeavors of the Church Administration.

ILOCOS SUR – Deaf Awareness and Basic Sign Language Seminar

To assist the Church Administration in taking care of our Deaf brethren, the Christian Society for the Deaf (CSD) officers, led by Brother Jerry Meting, CSD Adviser, spearheaded a Deaf Awareness and Basic Sign Language Seminar in the Local Congregation of San Pedro-Narvacan. In this activity, the brethren learned basic signs that they can use in communicating with the Deaf and to help the Church Administration in propagating God’s words.

CALAMIAN – Basic Sign Language Seminar held in the Local Congregation of Coron

Ministers and ministerial workers, being helpers of the Church Administration, are given training in order to effectively perform their duties in taking care of our brethren including the Deaf. In this district a Sign Language Seminar was held in the Local Congregation of Coron. The ministers and ministerial workers were taught basic signs which they can use to communicate with our Deaf brethren. Brother Alexander Castillo, minister of the gospel, led the seminar.

ILOILO SOUTH – Christian Society for the Deaf (CSD) Unity Games

Taking part in the Christian Society for the Deaf (CSD) Unity Games, which was held at the Sports Hub in Iloilo City, Philippines, the Deaf brethren met and bond with new friends while honing their skills. Indeed, it was a day full of excitement and fun. The participants all the more strengthened their bodies and their faith edified.

UNITED KINGDOM – Christian Society for the Deaf Officers Oathtaking

Firmly believing that duties inside the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) are God’s gifts, this district inducts more Church officers, among whom are Christian Society for the Deaf (CSD) officers. One such occasion took place as an oathtaking followed the special gathering of Church officers that was held at the house of worship of the Local Congregation of Heathrow.

MACAU – Sign Language Tutorial

One of the missions of the Christian Family Organizations (CFO) is to cater to people with special needs like the Deaf community so that they can feel a sense of belongingness, and most importantly, they can learn the words of God. As such, the KADIWA brethren in this district conducted a Sign Language Tutorial spearheaded by Brother Shandrick Earl Ang, District CFO Overseer. The participants were delighted to attend the activity as they learned new skills that they can use to communicate with the Deaf. They look forward to taking part in similar events in the future.

ILOILO SOUTH – CSD CARES

Through the activity called “CSD Cares,” the Deaf from this district receive care packages as initiated and directed by the Church Administration. This socio-civic endeavor proved to be timely as the recipients were affected by the severe tropical storm Paeng (international name: Nalgae). With their faith and hope renewed, they expressed through Sign Language their many thanks to Brother Eduardo V. Manalo, the Executive Minister, for his continuous love and care for them.

NAGA CITY, CAMARINES SUR – Online Basic Sign Language Seminar

To assist the Church Administration in taking care of our Deaf brethren, the Christian Society for the Deaf (CSD) in this district held an Online Basic Sign Language Seminar. Brother Sylner Canaria, CSD Adviser, led the seminar and taught how to sign the alphabet and numbers. The participants were appreciative of the knowledge they gained since it will help them in performing their duties.

ILOILO SOUTH – Deaf Awareness and Basic Sign Language Seminar

Many were delighted and excited about studying Sign Language as Jibao-an Congregation hosted the seminar on Deaf Awareness and Basic Sign Language. Brother Orlando Ordan, the Christian Society for the Deaf District Adviser, taught Basic Sign Language to those present. Additionally, they promise to remain one with the Church Administration in taking care of our Deaf brethren.
