QUEZON CITY – SIGN LANGUAGE INTERPRETERS DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITY

QUEZON CITY — The first of its kind, the “Sign Language Interpreters Development Activity” was held at the multi-purpose hall of the house of worship of the Local Congregation of Capitol. Christian Society for the Deaf (CSD) officers learned about the five parameters of Sign Language, chunking, and cloze skill, among other ways, which will help them improve their signing skills.

RIZAL EAST – BASIC SIGN LANGUAGE SEMINAR

RIZAL EAST – Christian Society for the Deaf officers lead Basic Sign Language seminars in various local congregations. Many brethren learned how to sign colors, numbers, days, greetings, and Church terminologies. These are of big help, they said, in communicating with the Deaf.

NEW ZEALAND – CHILDREN FROM THE LOCAL CONGREGATION OF HAMILTON DEMONSTRATE SIGN LANGUAGE

NEW ZEALAND – Children from the Local Congregation of Hamilton demonstrate Sign Language (SL). They, among other Children’s Worship Service (CWS) officers and members, were guided with the help of the Iglesia Ni Cristo SL App. With its members being taught how to sign the basics, such as signing fruits, vegetables, emotions, body parts, home items, especially Church terms, the CWS is one with the Church Administration in caring for the Deaf, be they Church members or not.

BOHOL – BASIC SIGN LANGUAGE SEMINAR

BOHOL – The Church officers in the Local Congregation of Ubujan attended a Basic Sign Language Seminar led by the Christian Society for the Deaf or CSD. They learned basic signs such as greetings and Church terms which they can use in communicating with the Deaf as they continue to actively participate in the work of propagation.

MAMBURAO, MINDORO OCCIDENTAL – BASIC SIGN LANGUAGE SEMINAR

MAMBURAO MINDORO OCCIDENTAL—The Church officers in this district actively participated in a Basic Sign Language Seminar, wherein they learned basic signs such as alphabet, numbers, and greetings. This seminar was led by Brother Jedexan Dueñas, District CSD Adviser, with the help of brother Cris Ibarra Famadico, CSD Interpreter.

ISABELA EAST – BASIC SIGN LANGUAGE SEMINAR

ISABELA EAST – Ministers and ministerial workers, who are Sign Language (SL) interpreters, led Basic Sign Language seminars in various local congregations. Having attended these, Church officers learned basic SL communication skills, among other things to understand about the Deaf community.
